A few years ago Celeste Neelen took a group of people into the Sinai desert, to travel around in silence. Now she is going to lead a Silence Retreat on Limnisa, Methana. "The atmosphere on Limnisa is ideal" she says.
" The seclusion of the house and the bay, the ever changing rhythm of the sea and the different shades of blue will help you to become quiet. Within this quietness you will be able to look at yourself, and at what is really essential in your life and you will forget who you were 'supposed to be'."
Methana is an island all but for the isthmus with the eastern Peloponnese. It has preserved itself in splendid isolation from its more populous neighbours providing a genuinely secluded retreat for reflection.
