RESULTS SHORT STORY COMPETITION 2010
What a crazy predicament- trying to pick a 'winner' from so many wonderful stories. Almost a hundred and fifty, so varied, so full of talent, it didn't seem fair that so few could make it to the short list, let alone hit the 'top ten'.
Stories came from all over the world; including India and Hong Kong, Canada and the US, Australia and New Zealand, most countries in the EU, and even one from Croatia.
A big thank you to all you writers!
To show our appreciation we'd like to invite you to join us on bluethumbnail.com, our new site for exciting new fiction. We will be posting stories on-line from Friday 7th May- including some of your entries (with your permission, of course).

As to finding a 'winner', in the end it didn't seem right
to only settle on one so we've chosen a winning TRIO-
LAST DAYS OF WOOLWORTHS by Steve Amos
EDWARD´S HEART by A.T. Lynne
MR. McFEE AND THE RED ROSE by Madeline Shaw
From many other great stories we also chose the following as our finalists-
CONNECTION AT 51ST STREET by Susan Stuart
EDDIE´S LAMENT by Elizabeth L Silver
SOME PAGES REMAIN UNOPENED by Natalie Donbavard
A MATTER OF MINUTES by Neil Burkey
SILVER BREAM by Tony Bell
FAUSTINO´S STAND by Pat Hart
THE CAT by Russell Turner
Plus- a special junior prize of an Amazon book token goes to Madeleine Bayley, 13 years old, for her compelling story MORENA'S BEACH.
The top THREE winners can choose between a FREE PLACE at one of our LIMNISA CREATIVE WRITING SEMINARS OR a ONE WEEK STAY in a HOLIDAY APARTMENT with sea view 3 minutes from the beach, on the Methana peninsula in Greece. Our 8 runners-up are offered a 50% discount at either or our CREATIVE WRITING SEMINARS ('Time to Express Your Self' or 'Kick Start Your Writing Project´).
Also, the following will be offered a 25% discount on the above: Paul ADKIN, Martin BADGER, David L CARPENTER, Rachel CROFTS, Annesley DOWNEY, Anna ELLISTON, Tanya FARRELLY, Maria FINGLETON, Jennifer KHARIBIAN, Susan LANIGAN, Samuel MEAD, Moya McDERMOT, Helena McMULLIN, Patricia MOWBRAY, Helene ROUMEL, Jasmine SARGENT, Jane TINGLE, James TROTTER, Steve WADE, Robert WALTON.
For everyone else not mentioned, thank you again for taking part. Please don´t be discouraged, many stories not on the shortlist were very accomplished indeed and much enjoyed by the judges. Each one was unique. Keep writing.
